The tower (a tall, light-hued obelisk that reminds me of the Washington Monument in minature) was built to commemorate the eponymous battle of Bunker Hill – the first major battle of the American Revolution – which took place on June 17, 1775.... As you go up you see the beautiful Bunker Hill Monument. If you want you can take the 294 steps and go to the top of the Monument for some breathtaking views of the beautiful city of Boston. It is a work out. I ran the first 100 steps and boy was I sore for the next couple days. Coming down I had a shakey caves, It's a good cardio. Take it easy if you decide to go up, but it's definitely worth it.
